I got a Rev B 12" combo stock with APX and 3year Applecare (till Feb of 2007).
I have an offer right now to sell it for $1400 dollars which is a little hit on what I payed for it only 3 months ago ($1650). This money will be used to upgrade to a Rev C 12" 5400HD combo or Rev A 15" Alu 1GHz. So should I go through with the deal and upgrade, or should I be happy with what I have. The only thing that bugs me with the whole thing is that I got my 12" covered for the next 3 years, and the new one will only be covered for one year. I really need some advice on upgrading, but hearing about better screens, faster proc., twice the HD, twice the VRAM, and faster bus speeds makes me think "how can I not upgrade for an extra $200." My computer now is flawless in that there are no dead pixels, so feel I will be gambling a bit with a new purchase, what would you do?

You can cancel the Apple Care coverage and get a refund on the unused time that is remaining. Which should be most of it since you have only had it 3 months.

Do you need the higher speed of the new models?
I would keep the one you have now and enjoy it, in a year or so you can upgrade to the g5 when it comes out.

My only gripe in wanting to upgrade is the VRAM being doubled. Seeing how I am a graphic design student, I want to be able to keep with updated software but now my 32MB of VRAM seems to be on the low end. If only somebody would explain what benefits one would recieve by having the REV C graphic card vs the REV B.

Little benefit unless you are doing OpenGL 3D work (or playing games). Wont make a lick of difference in 2D processor-bound things like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., even when using a high-resolution external monitor.

Yeah just keep it,not worth hassle...Either way nVidia sucks. I was kinda jelous of the 64MB chip but I dont think it would make a huge difference, both chips are pretty lame. My Mom has a 64MB nVidia 5200 Ultra in her Dell and it wasnt that much of an improvement when I tested Unreal 2004. I really hope Apple uses an ATI card in the next 12" revision G5 or not then I'll upgrade or get a 15".
