I hae a G4 ibook and am wondering if a Vector Pocket Power Invert (DC to AC) 70 watt with output voltage of 100/120VAC will work to charge my ibook while in the car and while on American Airlines.

Here's a link to what I am talking about:

Go to Pep Boys. They have a 200W inverter for $20 and a 400W inverter for $30. They are Coleman brand with 2 years warranty.

Do airplanes have cigarette lighter sockets?

Do you really wanna suck the power out of the plane?!! Especially if you're flying in it? *hehe*

I'd charge the puppy before I got on the plane and then once at the airport between flights or wherever.

As I understand it the airline plugs have enough amps to run a laptop but not charge it at the same time. Maybe that's changed now that they have the standard 12 volt plugs but that used to be the case.

airline electrical connections:

Maybe JetBlue does, I understand they are pretty "wired".......but most do not.

Most business class and first class will for international flights, but even that is hit or miss. (of my last 4 international flights, 2 have had the iGo socket for me to charge my battery etc).

It is rare (indeed unknown by me) for coach class on any flight to have the laptop electric connection.

Can anyone chime in on what JetBlue or any other airline that might have the electrical connections?

American Airlines has standard car type 12 volt plug-ins about every 4th row in coach on some planes. Was very nice on my last flight when I accidentally got the right row. Don't know if you can book the right ones in advance though.
