I don't have my adapter with me and my powerbook decided to dive into a deep sleep with 35% battery left???? Is there any way I can get the CD out of the combo drive, bearing in mind I can't restart either?? Any help, much appreciated, thanks.

I believe that the 12" PowerBook combo drive does not have a paperclip eject button.

If you don’t mind losing the contents of your RAM, you might want to try the following to fool the PowerBook into starting up and ejecting the CD:

1. Hold down the power button and wait until the sleep light goes out.
2. Press the power button again to restart the computer, and hold down the mouse button.

Thanks f1000, unfortunately it's in a deep sleep and won't switch off, I have held the on/off switch for a good 30 seconds!

Remove the battery, wait for the sleep indicator to go out, and then reinstall the battery.

Hope that works.

If that doesn't shut the machine down, then something is seriously hosed. I'd reboot and reset the PMU. That could fix this problem as well as the sleeping at 35%.
