Haven't really needed the pc cards lately, so don't know anything about them.

What is the difference between type I and II? I think it is size related but not too sure.

Type II is twice the thickness (like in PBs)

exactly. the differnece between PCMCIA type I, II and III is thickness (3.3mm, 5.5mm & 10.5mm respectively)

the real distinction should be made between PCMCIA and cardbus. cardbus is the 32 bit implementation that allows busmastering (like PCI does) and speeds of up to 33mhz.
if it aint' broke, break it.
