I was surpised the other day when I went to Best Buy and found only one BT mouse... and it was only sold bundled with a BT keyboard.

Noticed they did have a few USB/cordless mice.. small USB dongle that plugs in (like a keychain drive) as the receiver, and the mouse.

Not quite as elegant, but seemingly more available, and while I didn't do extensive research, also cheaper.

Any comparisons between these two types (in general) ? Tradeoffs beyond the obvious use of one USB port? Might one use more/less power/batteries than the other? Would one be more acceptable in an airplane? (or are both bad?)

Thanks,
Mike

I find that CompUSA has a much better selection of Bluetooth mice than BestBuy does. Also, read my post on Bluetooth versus RF battery life (Logitech mice only) in the following thread: http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...p;pagenumber=3

Thanks for the link.

Hmph, my cordless Mouseman Optical (for my desktop) (USB wireless) can go 2-3 months on one set of batts.

Yeah, I know. The battery life of the MX900 is definitely a step down for me, but then again, I like not having a dongle stuck to my laptop.
