If i took out the battery on the ibook and just put the ac adapter can it still work? is it safe?

Just did so (before I put the battery back in place) to check that my extra RAM is work. And I suppose it's safe, except for the fact that the insides of the case are a bit more exposed to dust, drool, etc.

Just leave it on the desk, and you'll be fine. You don't what to get dust into the slot or break some of the surrounding shield, would you?
I've had my iBook running without batteries. The OS just recognize an empty battery bay, that's it.
