Hi, any ideas about how much faster the latest G4 iBooks(with 512K L2 cache) compare to the older ones (256K cache) ?

any websites provide technical comparison between the two? or anyone has tried the two machines and how do u feel the difference in speed or anything else?

One more question is that, do the new versions still have the problem of space bar raising on the right?

Check on the xbench site:

You can find and compare all sorts of Macs. I'm not sure if anybody has put a new G4 iBook up yet or not.

I would think its safe to say that the increase between both said items is probably the same difference in speed compared with the Rev A 12" PB to the Rev B 12" PB. I would think with a 200MHz faster processor, and twice the L2 cache that there should be quite the improvement. As for cosmetic issues, the only one I've heard of being common amongst all iBooks is the creaking to the left of the trackpad.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

I just recently ran xbench on my iBook (12" 1Ghz 768MB RAM). I used to own a 1Ghz iMac and the only thing I notice (from the benchmarks) is a slower hard drive but everything else is speedy, and for my everyday tasks I don't notice much difference.

As for issues I notice the creaking too but I really have to press down hard and listen closely to hear it. And also the arrow keys on the right side of the keyboard are lifted a bit (spacebar is fine).
