hi all... i have been beating my head on this issue all day, and the results i find from searches both here in the forum are not working, or just don't seem to apply (maybe from Jaguar instead of Panther, i dunno)... heres the deal; i'm going out of town for the weekend tonight, and would *really* be able to make use of the internet via my 12" Powerbook and my Bluetooth-enabled phone, i have a SonyEricsson Z600 that does have GPRS enabled on my tMobile account.

i found what seemed to be a very concise faq posted a while back here in the forums regarding the setup procedure for getting this working, but i hit a wall when it gets to "select USB Bluetooth Modem" in the instructions... that is not listed as a choice at all on my Powerbook in the "Internet Connect" dialog. my phone is successfully paired w/ the Powerbook, iSync works and i get the on-screen caller ID function fine, just no outbound internet.

can anyone point me in the right direction here? i tried talking to tMobile's tech support but they won't help because they do not directly sell my model of phone... any advice would be greatly appreciated, it would be a real boon to get this working in time for my trip..!

Just setup your phone using the BT assistant

Then for the username: wap and password:wap

The dial string is *99***1#

thx for the speedy reply, tekno! from the other faq i found, it instructed to create a secondary profile on my phone, aside from the 'wap' entry... can the wap entry be used for regular internet access as well then? i'm going to try out what you listed above, have to delete all the non-working entries i've created already today..

Yes the WAP entry can be used for internet access as long as you have the $9.99 T-Zones plan, might work with the $4.99 plan also...When I had a Z600 I never had to create a new profile.

ah, thats the difference then... i don't have a T-Zones account, just the unlimited GPRS data plan... trying to call them again, there seems to be lots of differing sets of instructions online about how to get this working and none of them seem to work for me. i get a "GPRS parameters not supported" on my phone when trying to connect using the methods described here on the fora..

I thought the unlimited plan was the $9.99 T-Zones Pro plan?

I somewhere read that the Z600 does not have an integrated modem. Wouldn´t I need this to go online? Or do I have a basic missunderstanding in this case?
