Hi,

I have been ignoring this for a while, assuming its just a driver issue, however ever since I got my TiBook, this problem has been appearing in just about all 3d games!

Does anyone else have this? If not, maybe my powerbook is faulty?

Please reply!

I am adding a screenshot shortly.

From what I hear, OS X 10.3.3 has driver problems with the TiBook's Radeon 9000.

They just released driver updates for iBooks to fix OpenGL problems:

Does anyone know if this would work on the Titanium Powerbook?

Which TiBook are you talking about here?

667 MHz = Radeon 7000
800 MHz = Radeon 7500
1 GHz = Radeon 9000

These chips are all different and have different drivers (and... bugs...)

FWIW I've used all of those models (but not under 10.3.3) and never seen pink spots. A screenshot would help us diagnose your problem.

Interesting. My Ti 1ghz (thus radeon 9000 pro 64mb) exhibits a grey 'dot' - or rather a collection of pixels that form a grey square, that moves depending on the resolution of the opengl window. eg in UT2k4, eg in Q3, eg in maya - it's always there, just somewhere differing on resolution. Thing is though I can't remember it not being there ever since I got it new last year, so I suspect it may be a hardware issue? It's been that way 10.2 through to 10.3.2 so I find it less likely that it's an OSX issue, unless it's been a bug in the 9000 driver for just so long and I'm one of a very very small number who have seen it

Any more info would be appreciated.

Well I learned about the driver problem in OS X 10.3.3 from this email from Aspyr tech support:

Aspyr Media Support Response

Howdy Geoffrey,

OS 10.3.3 's video card driver is not compatable with the mobilty 9000. Applle will be fixing this issue with the release of 10.3.4. We apologize for the inconvienece.

-Cory-
Thank you for your email. Have a great day.
