i just need some help properly transferring gigs of data from my pc to my mac. my only option is to hook a ethernet cable into the pc and straight into the powerbook.

any ideas? im using win xp on the other computer and its not so easy to share files. unfortunately i also dont have a working burner so any help would be extremely appreciated.

Well it sounds like you know what to do already.. you can network the two machines and transfer the data. When I have to transfer files from my xp pc to my alpb, I network the two and start the transfer.

Where you hoping to get some setup pointers?

thqanks for the reply. i actually dont have a clue how to set up the network...

i mean i know its not as simple as plugging the ehternet cable into both machines. what are the next steps? im lost.
