I dont know if anyone is still using the old Wallstreet powerbooks, but I have one sitting around at home that I would like to fix. It just wont turn on, hit the power button and nothing happens. Easy description, but hard to diagnose I suppose.
I have heard something about a PRAM, but I dont know if that is my problem. The battery that came with the powerbook is nearly useless, and I think this started when it reached full discharge.
Then again it may be the motherboard is gone, or processor, it always ran hot, and I would keep it running for days on end. Im not sure what happened because it was working and then suddenly stopped.

I had seen two of those machines revived by resitting the ram chip; and other just by resitting the daughter card. Good luck!

The Wallstreet had a separate PMU module. This could be corrupt, or it could be a bad board. If I remember correctly, the PMU reset on this machine is "shift-ctrl-option-power." It's posted on the IO panel. Also, the backup battery is a rechargeable battery. You may need to let the thing sit for a while (a day) plugged up to the AC power cord without the main battery. It could be the DC-in board, and it could be the charging board. Let me know what happens with the PMU reset thing.
