Hi,

First post and first mac here... I want to ask for peoples' opinions on the 1.33ghz 15" powerbook, about the responsiveness, battery life, usability, heat, durability, etc. I'll be using the powerbook for surfing, email, light photoshop, web developing, ssh/telneting, and basically all miscellaneous web stuff. No graphics/processor intensive stuff here - I have a desktop PC for that. But the powerbook will be my 'primary' computer, so it'll be high-mileage, so-to-speak.

Here are some more questions:

I've heard about the white spot issue - is that resolved in the new poewrbooks?

I would also like to know if it's possible to upgrade the video memory to 128mb myself, without buying the 1.5ghz model. i.e. buying a memory module and installing it in the powerbook myself. I don't want it that badly, but it's something I'd do for $50 or so.

Dead pixels - this machine will be BTO b/c I want the backlit keyboard, so what are my chances of getting a bad pixel? I've heard that apple doesn't do anything for you if you get a bad pixel (which really sucks!). Is this true?

Do you guys think this will be a good choice for me? I chose the 15" b/c of the balance between price and screen resolution (and the backlit keyboard). Thanks in advance,

Aaron
