To start with I would like to say that by no means I wish to take up on any credit or glory or anything else that this home invention will bring to its inventor Mr. Nicolas Khongthong. On the other hand I would like to salute and congratulate him upon a great design and invention he has created.
Well here is his invention
And the link to the forum where I found this.
I just wanted to share this invention I found with the macnn.com community.

That is the ugliest, tackiest, least stable hacked together piece of junk I've ever seen.
But it's an extraordinary idea. Quite brilliant.

I would just say that it is in the developmental area....
With the right development...say accurate measurements, better material and some testing it could be a hit!

jorgem4: Thank you for sharing the link to the picture and the original discussion. What a fabulous idea! The Pyramid stand could obviously benefit from some refinement, especially in terms of stability. But it's a fantastic concept.
I was planning on building a Duo Dock-like port replicator when I get my new 12-inch PowerBook. But a vertical stand/dock would be much cooler (literally and figuratively).

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.

its a nice space saver, although i would never have it standing on the edge like that, because of fear it will fall, and fear it will warp the case.
EDIT: why did he put arrows on the speakers, as far as i know, they are not ventilation. the intake is next to the ports

Ventilation is one concern I have. As far as I know, air is drawn in from the side vents and blown out the back under the screen hinge. If the PowerBook were mounted with the backside up, convection should aid cooling (like in the old Mac Plus and the fanless slot-load iMacs). Of course, the Apple logo would then be upside down.
