connecting audio devices to ibook

The ibook doesn't have any audio line-in ports... so how can you plug audio devices in? Specifically how can you connect an electric guitar into the mac for use with garageband? On the mac site they have a story about some Musician that plugs his guitar into his ibook via a USB cable. Where would someone find a USB audio adapter? Just Wondering.
