A friend of mine just bought a used ibook 600, and we noticed that even if the energy saver settings are for reduced speed, the damn thing does not reduce the speed to 400 mhz.
Trying from the command line with
pmset -c reduce 1
also dont reduce the processor speed.
sysctl -a reports:
hw.busfrequency: 99840000
hw.busfrequency_min: 99840000
hw.busfrequency_max: 99840000
hw.cpufrequency: 600000000
hw.cpufrequency_min: 600000000
hw.cpufrequency_max: 600000000
if the computer is plugged in or running on battery, it seems that the reduced speed setting on the Energy Saver is not working.
After a long investigation, my friend ask the seller and the seller told him that he was playing with the chud tools and with the Reggie SE.
I know there are some switches and options on the Reggie Se that affect processor speed and stuff.
I just download the latest CHUD tools and check the HID1, only number 0 (PC0), 1 (PC1) and 3 (PC3) are selected, all the other switches are off.
its that ok ??
Thanks.
BTW: I already reset the pmu several times with no success about the computer speed, it continues at 600 even when told not to (in the Energy Saver is selected reduced speed and the ibook is not plugged in)
