So I wanted to repair my permissions using the Panther CD. When I rebooted and pressed the letter "c" I got to the grey apple and the computer froze. Tried it again - froze. But I could boot up without problem without pressing C. Whats going on? The CD works fine in my Pismo. Is my drive messed?

The machine is too new and not supported in 10.3. Boot from the first DVD included with your PowerBook which has a special newer build of 10.3.3 on it.
