What do i need to get to get my apartment wireless. My fiance and i have a 12'' new powerbook and i have a brand new 15''. On apple they have a airport setup with antenae port and modem and one without. What is this port. Would i not be able to but an extra antenea in this hub??? Im really brand new to wireless networks so my question is what do i need to get it all set up. My apartment is very small only a couple of rooms. What is the range of a single base station. I have comcast high speed internet... do i just hook the airport station into that???? Thanks for any input.

You shouldn't need any extra equipment on the powerbooks themselves since all the new powerbooks have airport extreme cards built in.
I think you're trying to ask what the difference is between the apple airport extreme base station with and without antenna ports. The antenna port allows you to add an external antenna for greater range, since you have a small apartment, you can probably get away without one.
Not exactly sure what you will be doing with the wireless connection, but if you do not need alot of speed, you can usually pick up an older 802.11b wireless router for $20-30 after rebates. This gives you 11Mbps versus 54Mbps with the airport extreme (which uses the 802.11g standard). I think its plenty fast for web surfing and occasional downloads, and you can always just plug in when you need the extra speed.
Basically you plug in the ethernet cable coming out of your Comcast modem to the uplink on your router. Configure the router per included instructions and turn on airport on your powerbooks, I'm pretty sure it will find your router automatically or give you a prompt and you will be connected.

The Airport base station is a router. What SplijinX is suggesting is that you get a 3rd party router instead of the Airport Base Station, as they're much cheaper, and perform the same task.

Yeah, I can vouch for a non-apple wireless router. I picked up the linksys wireless g router and it worked effortlessly. I plugged the cat-5 cable from the cable gateway into the router and turned on my PB and I was connected, no additional work needed.

There may be a way to get away with not having a router since you have two powerbooks. If you plug one into the internet, you may be able to share it wirelessly, so the other powerbook can be free to roam around the apartment.
You can turn on internet sharing in system prefs, but I have not played with this before.
I guess I wasn't specific enough above. As rglenn mentioned, the Airport Base Station is a router. It's just Apple's offering, any other brand will do really. They look cool and all, and I'm sure they work great, just a bit pricy IMO.
Like I said, there are plenty of deals, check this one out:

Netgear 802.11b router for $10 after rebate.
