I'm planning on selling my PB this in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone would be willing to recommend some asking prices. I'll throw out the specs:

12" Rev. B PB
1 Ghz
768 Ram
Superdrive
AE
80 GB HD

Any suggestions?

That one has less ram and the smaller hard drive and is at 1000 with one day left. 850 seems way to low for his.

if you want a quick sale, i would say maybe $950 to just get rid of it, if you have apple care then you have the upside of selling it for a bit more, but i dont see it selling for anything above $1200. the reason why i say this because, there are refurbished PB12" you can buy for refurb 12" 1gig for $1299 with one year warranty, so again your aplle care if you do have one will help you alot in resale value.

You are all on crack! $950 for a 12" SD PB?! I see Pizmos still going $800 to $900! $1200 is the lowest I would sell mine. Anything less and you shouldn't respect yourself in the morning (or mourning if you sell it)!

i dont think you read the post closely enough. its states that if he wants to get rid of it quick, he can sell for $950 probably without any hassle, if he can hold off, he can get more for it but not by much. you must have been living under a rock, have you checked apple's website lately???? go to the special deals section and check it our for yourself. i think your the one on crack. who in the hell would buy a pismo for $800??? the reality is unless the seller is going to back it up with warranty, most people would buy directly from apple in which they get a 1 year warranty - if the price between the two is nominal. i would save you the trouble and post the link, but then why, go and check for yourself.

$800 -$900 for a Pismo? Where are you seeing that? I would be happy to get that for my Pismo. VERY happy.

I'd say around $1100 - $1300. It's got SupahDrive, baby. But it depends on how old it is and its condition.

i've seen Pizmos for sale for that amount on the LEM Swap list in the past 3 months. $950 will get a quick sale, but so will $2000 for a brand BMW. And he didn't say he had to sell it quick, he said he was going to sell it in the next few weeks. So how about YOU go back under YOUR rock and stop acting like a foo'.

Perfect condition Pismo's are $350 - $500 right now at PowerbookCentral.com seller listings. $800-900 for a Pismo is for crackheads or eBay bidders.

Throw that on ebay for a five day auction and you'll get an easy $1300 for it, you have more RAM then standard, Superdrive, AE, and an 80gig HD (hopefully you have some Applecare on it). Don't settle for $850 or $900, ebay bidders always end up overpaying in the last minutes. I got $750 for my Pismo about three months ago, and it was at $550 with 12 minutes to go.

This is direct from Apple's refurb site

PowerBook G4 1GHz/256MB/40GB/SuperDrive/E/12"-Aluminum Add $1,499.00

Do the math people.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

Does having AppleCare add much? I've been thinking about side-grading to a 12" for more portability and selling my still-nice TiBook 667/DVI/768MB/30GB/AirPort that still has AppleCare until Feb 2006. My target price is $1100...

Maybe I oughta just swap eatinwokout for his 12" AlBook...

EDIT: AppleCare is for three years and I bought it in 2003 = 2006.

Well I've been looking at spymac.com and the auctions they host there and it looks like the place to sell. I'm aiming for somewhere around 1200-1400. I know that might look kinda high, but there is a 867 G4 pb right now for 1100. I guess it just depends on whose interested.

I stand corrected on Pizmo prices, I guess, but wasn't TOO fat off the mark. Regardless, it's a nice machine (I have one) and would cringe to see it go for under $1000 like some people were saying. Macs don't lose their value that quickly. You guys act like its an HP or something...
