i've got a couple of powerbooks and want to transfer data from one to another. I have an ethernet cable and know that you can ghost one harddrive onto the desktop of the other computer and then just drag the data on to the desktop, but how is this done? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Timmyh

The easiest way to transfer files would be with a firewire cable. If you don't have one, buy one and return it after the transfer is done.

Connect two computers with Firewire cable
Boot one of your Powerbook as Target Mode (Hold T while turning on the PB)
Then you'll see the HD(s) on the other pb's desktop.

If you have AirPort on both, you don't need the cable. You can connect the two via the AirPort card in a wireless network. I get faster transfer speeds via AirPort then I do with an ethernet cable.
You won't get Internet access between the two while you're in a network, but for file transfer, it's easy. You don't even need to reboot.
Have file sharing on, go to your AirPort and create network. Then all you have to do is join up.
