Will a G4 keyboard fit a dual USB iBook?

Does anyone know if I can swap a keyboard from a new G4 iBook into my 900 MHz G3 iBook?

I don't have two sitting in front of me to tell you for certain, but the photos that I have access to look virtually identical. I suspect the only difference is the color (which does warrant a different part number, so I can't go based on that). I'd give it a shot.

If the keyboard doesn't fit, you could maybe just pop the keys off the new one, and put them on you old keyboard.

Got an answer: The jack on the logic board is further to the left on the G4 iBooks. Therefore, the iBook G4 keyboard has a longer cable than my iBook G3. The G4 keyboard will work in my laptop, but not the other way around. The keyboards are compatible, but the length of the cable is the determining factor here.
For comparison: the jack is right smack in the middle of my machine. It's an iBook (Early 2001).
