Looks mighty impressive!!!! I guess Apple wont be putting that in the Powerbooks for a long time!
I read recently that ATI or nVidia are trying to create a mobile graphics card standard slot... that would be most excellent!!!!

Apple currently has the mobility Radeon 9700 which WAS the best until this came out, so Apple might have this chip in the next revision of the Powerbooks in 5-6 months. All they need is a new motherboard with the PCI Express connection.
Regarding the standard slot, didn't you read the article, ATI is using AXIOM and Nvidia is using MXM (I think). I doubt you'll get both to use the same standard.

I agree, however, it would be of benefit if a standard was agreed upon. Maybe it wont happen but it would definately lower costs and allow people to keep up to date if they wanted. Also, if powerbooks have a longer 'useful' life than other notebooks... a standard for upgrading the graphics hardware would improve that aswell!!!

Apparently ATI's X series doesn't have Mac support yet because they are concentrating on PCI Express (the mini version for laptops too). Macs don't have this yet so we have to wait quite a while for AGP parts. Looks like we're stuck with the 9700 for some time. The Geforce 6x00 series doesn't even have a mobile version yet.

I know that Nvidia are using an AGP 'bridge', so their new stuff can go into 8x AGP Powermacs. I think ATI will probably do the same thing even if they aren't saying so yet.
