Me and my brother have powerbooks - 15's. His is a Tibook mine is an AL. I'm looking to buy 2 external fw hd's. Would like to know what everyone is happy with? Suggestions? I know i have FW800 and he only has FW400, not sure if we should both buy the same FW400 drive. Cost is not the biggest factor, reliability and functionality/features is.

Get two FW800 drives. It will work with a FW400 port with a FW800->FW400 cable or adaptor.
