hi there, MacNNers. after browsing many a thread on tibook hinges, i could not find an answer to my dilemma.

i took my rev b 667 apart to replace the top case (nothing like chipping paint whilst abroad to make warranty claiming impractical) and swapped guts of the computer effortlessly.

however, upon screwing the black inner plates of the hinge back to the couplings and back to my new top case, i found the display would not open or close. at. all. the hinges seem stuck in the position in which i set the display when i removed the module from the top case. (that's about 45 degrees, for those of you who have the apple service manual.)

i've tried lubricating them to no avail. i also had no luck in applying a bit of pressure with a pliers (i don't want to torque my whole display module). any suggestions? i'm utterly baffled and think i may take it in to the apple store. how ironic that the mechanically least complex part of this endeavor is holding up putting my pb back together again. meh. thanks in advance for your help.
dude, signatures? wank.
