Here's strange

Sys prefs accounts shows me as the admin on my PB with my name etc all ok but when I log in it says underneath the log in box that the machine is called Gordon Stephens computer (my dads name). It also won't let me delete files from the desktop without entering a password confirmation as it is saying the "settings have been changed"

I can't find any place that the settings are wrong but for some reason my Pb has taken on some apects of my Dad's ibook after me trying to fix the ibook at the weekend? Any idea where to look to restore normal personality?

Ta

When you first install the software it will ask you a series of questions to include owner and such. I remember I mispelled my name when I named the computer and the only way around changing that was to install a fresh operating system.

If you take this question to the Mac OS X Forum you will get much better results. I'm susprised tooki didn't lock your thread because this is a PowerBook Forum. Good luck!

yes point taken. I just seem to gravitate to this forum as a PB user. Maybe I should "get out" more!

Just trying to help you out. They may have much better solutions for OS X than here.
