Hi,

My new hard drive arrives tomorrow, for my PB Ti400. I understand I'll need a TORX screwdriver to unscrew the drive itself. Anyone know what size?

Anyone with any other gotchas?

Thanks in advance!!

I believe it is a T-8 Torx. Almost all Apple Laptops are that size.

I just replaced the hard drive in my Ti Book (Gigabit Ethernet) and it was really simple. You can get directions here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=50120
They're for my model, the one right after yours, but since they're the same case design it's the same process. I swapped out the original 30 GB 4200 RPM drive for a Hitachi 80 GB 5400 RPM one and the difference is striking. Everything feels snappier™, especially launching apps and booting up. It had better since the drive is spinning 28% faster! And a fresh install of Panther can't hurt!!

I remember when I had my 667 DVI a credit card came in handy for shoe horning in those pesky rubber grommets around the hard drive. Just a tip.
