Hi,

After years of flawless usage, my Powerbook battery seems to have kicked the bucket. It won't hold a charge and nor will it go past one light blinking. The PB can see it, but says it's not charged.

It seems to have happened overnight, from working fine, to this. I've tried all the usual things to see if it might have been something else, but no luck.
Do you think it's really dead? Time to get a new one?

Thanks.

Anything between the battery and the DC-in jack could be causing the problem. The charging board is the most likely cause. Batteries don't tend to go from working to not working overnight, but boards do. (the logic board and the DC-in board/Sound card are the other options).

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3

Hmm, now that is a thought. I was looking at batteries yesteday, and given the age of the Mac and the cost of the battery, I might just leave it.

Might be time for a new PB soon.

Thanks again.

Are there any checks on the internals that I could maybe do, without resortng to taking it in for repair?

Thanks.
