sigh, i have os 9.1 cd, and what i did was copy the system folder to my powerbook 17 albook... now when i start up it says something about cant being from the startup disk and has to be from original install or seomthing. how can i do this when i cant even run the "mac os install" from the mac os 9.1 cd? please help me classic working under panther... sigh

what is the proper method?

You need at least OS 9.2.1 to run Classic mode with OS X since 10.2. Perhaps you can install it from your system restore disks?

i cant find any of my disk, sigh, does anyone here have it or can send me os9general.dmg from the system restore disk, i really need help... i have os 9.1 cd, but it wont boot up on my powerbook, i think its too old... sigh, please help anyone...

You can't boot any recent Powerbooks or Macs with OS 9. You can only run OS 9 in Classic mode. Why do you want or need to do this?
