Hi,

whilst away from the laptop I left it on the floor, opened up. When i came back, my cat had managed to pull off 5 of the keys! Out of the 5, 2 clicked back on no bother, but I fear the other 3 actually have little bits which hold the key on which are broken.

Is there anywhere i can get new parts for the keyboard, or would myy local Apple reseller be able to sort it?

www.pbparts.com

You'll need key caps and scissors (those fragile white parts underneath).

See this article for pictures how they should look and how to put them back if nothing is broken.

Thanks very much. It was just the scissors that I need, as the keys seem to be undamaged.

Cheers

Are you able to re-assemble and attach the scissors as shown in that article? It seems like they'd be hard to break.

And just how was your cat able to tear up the keyboard like that?
