So there's a lot going on these days, friends are coming back from other countries, just moved, just installed Gentoo alongside OSX,got a new car and am learning to drive standard, blah blah blah. Yesterday I was outside my girlfriend's house having a smoke and set my laptop bag on top of my car and proceeded to drive away. The bag contained:
My rev A. 12" powerbook
My 160G Lacie Firewire drive where everything is backed up
My Netgear router
My N64 and its accessories.

Looking in the rearview, I thought 'Hey, that looks like a body or something. Wait a sec...." Needless to say, I turned around pretty fast, and ran into the middle of a fairly busy intersection to grab it. I believe it went under at least one car, but never caught any tire.

So everything's fine, nothing was damaged, but there is a moral to the story...

smoking isn't just bad for you, it's bad for your stuff.

Similar stories? Thoughts?

Wow. I wouldn't leave the house for the next day or so. You definitely used up all your luck on that one.

Glad to hear everything came out ok.

Addd a few scratches or dents and you'll stop being so focused on the appearance.

A thumbdrive was hanging off the hook inside my Incase sling bag. It somehow got inside the laptop compartment and put a small scratch on my aluminum PB. It has been over 4 months since that happen and I am still having issues with the fact that I scratched my PB. Perhaps I should seek some counseling?
