When I had my iBook a purchased a silicone port cover. It was great at keeping all the ports protected from the elements. Basically it was a silicone strip with little mouldings on it that fit into the ports, thus keeping it in place and covering/protecting the ports.

I travel a lot and my pBook is likely to be in some interesting places so I would like to minimise any chances of grime, dust, etc bothering my pBook.

The place I bought the iBook port cover doesn't produce them anymore, but then they never had them for pBooks anyhow.

Anyone got any ideas where I might be able to get one for my pBook?

I don't know where you might find a port cover. I would recommend a nice sleevecase instead.

Thanks. I got an STM sleeve which I put my pBook into when I am carrying it around in my laptop bag.

I was thinking the port cover is more useful when I might be say sitting at a cafe in Montreal or in a park in Melbounre. You know just to avoid anything getting into them like dirt, dust etc.

I know of the port cover you are referring to that you have on your iBook, but I don't think anyone has come out with one for the PowerBook.

As far as dust and dirt is concerned, that stuff usually settles on top of things (ie top of your bookcase) and does not travel into the crevasses unless you tamper with it yourself. If something does get in there just blow it out.

Otherwise just keep a watchful eye and it should be fine.
