Hi,

According to the people on the imac forum, I was able to get a good deal on a 15" Imac 800/60gb/superdrive with external Lacie 120gb 7200rpm Hard Drive for $625 from a colleague of mine. The imac is a gorgeous machine and can really light up a room!!

Thanks to you, I already kept my mint 17" 1ghz powerbook that I picked up for $1500. Of course, the question now is which on to keep. I'm hoping you can help me with it.

I could keep the imac and sell the 17" for at least $1800 (according to ebay prices), and then pick up maybe a 12" powerbook. Or I could of course, turn the imac around and make a little profit , and keep the lacie hard drive for myself, as well as the 17".

What would you do? It seems that it is important to consider the performance of the imac and the powerbook, and also which would be of the most value in terms of the future (resale value, etc.)

I'm not a hard core gamer at all, but like to dabble in photoshop and final cut a little. I'm definitely not close to a pro in either program. My wife loves the Imac, and would love to use it for kazaa (it comes with virtual pc 5). I'm just confused about this one, but don't see how we can justify keeping both beautiful machines.

Please help!!

Hi,

Well now that's another perspective!! Do you really think I should sell both of them? I think for my purposes as well as my wife's, either machine should be fine.

I'm just trying to hold things until a rev. b g5 powerbook comes through.

Would you happen to know if I can get kazaa lite to work okay with either the powerbook or imac. If I can get that to work, I can probably convince my wife to sell her sony tr laptop.

Thanks!!

sell the imac keep the powerbook the imac is better value but it looks like you need a laptop and if you are just going to trade the 17 for a 12 you might as well keep the 17.
