Anyone seen (heard) this?
When I connect my 12' PB (867MHz) to the stereo through the audio out, or connect headphones, and the fan is on, there is a small "whinning" noise in the background that changes pitch with the fan speed. the louder the volume the louder the noise. Not too obvious when watching a movie but you can hear it at the quite moments coming through the audio. A Bad ground somewhere internaly?
Anybody has the same problem? How about audio out through USB?

And yes, i am the proud owner of a 12". The price difference with the 15 or the 17" , bought me an external 17"LCD and I couldn be happier!

Thanks

So this noise is coming through your speakers? When I plug my headphones, that have a metal plug casing, into my 12" PB, I sometimes get a 'crackle'. Fiddling around with the plug fixes it.

I've read about PB fans catching somewhere inside, audibly. I once picked up My PB with one hand, while the fan was running, resulting in 'whirring' which sounded like the fan catching somewhere. The casing isn't too stiff.

Could the 'whining' be coming from the PB itself? That would account for the pitch changing with the fans speed.

The whinning is coming from the PB, but it's definitely electrical/ electronic. Fidling with cables and what-not, has no effect. If the fan is on, there is a noise going through the audio out.
Thanks for the reply.
