When I swapped my old 17" 1 Ghz for a free new 1.5 Ghz at the Apple store I neglected to swap install software disks. Not only did Disk Warrior 3.0 not work any more on the new 1.5 Ghz, the old 1 Ghz install disk would not boot up my new 1.5 Ghz. I went back and swapped disks and now it works. Is the 1.5 that much different than the 1 Ghz? Since Diskwarrior does not work I wonder if Tech Tools or Drive Ten will work. Alsoft says its waiting on a fix for those Powerbooks made since April of 2004, which I apparently have. Anyone have a clue whats going on? At least I can repair disk permissions but I like to have more maintenance capability.

My old 1 Ghz 17" had an intermittant screen problem that Apple repair could not fix on the third try. Since it was sent in three times for the same problem the Genius mentioned he would put in a request for a new laptop. To my surprise Apple honored his request and almost a month later I came in and swapped the old for the new at no additional charge. I was even allowed to use my old laptop until the new 1.5 Ghz came in, so I did not suffer any "laptop withdrawal syndrome"...you know? Anyway I notice VPC is considerably quicker on the new laptop, and there are no dead pixels. It's perfect up to now. I cant believe it. Now I am set for at least a few years with a new top-of-the-line Powerbook, all free of charge. I did not ask for the upgraded model either; they just gave it to me. Those Apple folks are a swell bunch of folks, aren't they?
