As I have stated in this post in the Apple Discussion board: http://discussions.info.apple.com/we...9166@.6895d51f

I am having a serious problem with the colors on my 12" Powerbook. This all changed after I installed 10.3.4 and has been like this through countless re-installs and formats. What do I do?! Thank you.

So I just clicked on the link I had in the discussion and the color appears correctly on my 23". Basically the color is a dirty puke green... very light and definitely green and not gray. I don't know why this is at all. It happens wherever that color is from iTunes, to iChat, to Safari. It is system wide. I have tried calibrating my monitor but am not very good at it. Using the sRGB or RGB profile does not help. What exactly can I do? I have sent the laptop to Apple for a warped base and told them to look into this but they did not... so now what?

Bahi is right, you need to provide us with a photo of your screen (and don't use a flash). Include pictures of your screen displaying a white color and a black color. You can use PowerPoint to do this.

I'm going to hazard a guess that your backlight may be going bad, but perhaps you should try zapping the PRAM first.

id say its your profile. i had this same problem with my powerbook, it was hideous. i fixed it with this calibration:

http://bardorodeo.com/dillon/colorsync.zip

uncompress this file, and put this it in:

[your home directory]/library/colorsync/profiles
after you do that, select it in the system preferences.

of course your display may be way off of mine, but its worth a shot.

Yeah I would try some different calibrated profiles for the 12" and see if that helps any. The default LCD is terrible on the 12" and RBG, sRGB are bad as well.

Try the one rag on a muffin posted (it is too washed out on my 12" though) and then I would say try this one too. I use it and it is pretty good with my 12" as-is (link to profile in 3rd paragraph):
