Hello

I'm selling my beloved 667 Ti Powerbook to a coworker. I've used this computer a lot for personal stuff over the years. I'm not very computer savvy and I'm wondering what(if anything?) I need to do to make sure my info is not accessible. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I would Zero the drive using disk utility.

Assuming you are using OS X then this might help...

Are you including any software? If not, use Disk Utility and erase the disk. It'll bring it back to the state you bought it in. If you bought it with Jaguar, you'll need to re-add Panther, and it's always good form to check with the buyer (especially a friend) if they want to do the software updates themselves.
And if you are including any software, you could always burn it to DVD or CD (if it's downloads and not from a disc already) and give it that way, or store the software on an external drive until after you're done reformatting.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! Keep em coming. I am including some software, but I can just reload it after I clear everything(is that correct?). I did buy the computer with Jaguar and then did the Panther update. Will this present significant problems?

Remember to de-authorize the computer from the iTunes Music Store if you've bought anything from iTMS. I haven't found a way to de-authorize a computer unless you have direct access to it.

if you are paranoid about keeping your data secret, you might want to wipe yer disk a few times.
