hi all, i'm curious what rule you follow with this one. if your done for the evening with your powerbook, but the fan happens to be running, do you close the lid/put it to sleep/shut it down, or do you wait it out for things to cool down via the fans before you power the machine down?
it seems, especially when closing the lid to put it to sleep, this might cause damage, or at least some kind of wear-and-tear, from heat that should be dissipated (hence the running fan) but is not, since the fan is turned off when the laptop goes to sleep. thus the heat remains longer than it should, to gradually warp and melt the tiny bits of solder and other delicate innards of our beloved pbooks.
is this something that anyone else has thought about, or something they perhaps know the absolute answer to?
