Hey all, if anyone has any input on this...my 12" powerbook wouldn't eject my cd despite several attempts to do so. I would drag it to the trash, the cd would disappear on the desktop, I'd hear a few noises and then it would mount again. I tried rebooting and eventually a little bit of cd popped out which I had to yank quickly otherwise it would suck it in again. When I finally got my cd out it was warped :-( Anyway, I have an external dvd burner which I guess I can use as my main drive but I'd rather not...if anyone has any input I'd appreciate it.

My 12"'s Superdrive started acting up and ate a CD.

AppleCare replaced the drive.

edit: didn't read the original post carefully. whoa. that's one dangerous problem there. what if it ate a DVD or an important CD. mine hasn't acted up yet, i hope it stays that way.

Ok, Applecare it is. I just don't want to have to part with it for long since it's my only computer.

BTW, I didn't insert a warped cd, it became warped after I'd put it in.

Thanks :-)

isnt having warped cds running in a drive a pretty dangerous situation since the cd can break unexpectedly?
