I've got an 800 G3 and I love it. Not a bad deal here.

Of course 1ghz isn't too much more, but for normal use stuff that book would be sweet.

Yes, they did sell an 800mhz iBook G4. That (a 12") and two 14" iBooks were the first of the G4 iBooks, which came out in October 2003. I have an 800mhz iBook G4. They no longer make them.
iBook G4: 800mhz, 640mb, 40gb ("Astrid")
iPod: 30gb Photo ("Gordon"), 1gb Shuffle ("Tinker Bell")
For the record: I am female

You may be better off buying the refurb iBook G4 800Mhz 12" for $650 from the Apple Store.

Swtain2003 is right. On the contrary, this forum should be friendly to those who are less knowledgeable so they can become more so!

that's actually a G3 with a cd-rom drive.

still, they do have a refurbished G4 with combo for $779.

I don't think there's any bad blood between mattyd and me, well after my second post in this thread anyway.

Congrats on your new iBook. BTW you mispelled.. you have got the G4 iBook (which is much better), not the G3.

regards,
