If this has happened to anyone else, please let me know. The screen of my 15" Al 1.25 has died. I noticed the brightness was varying over the last week and then last night the light stopped working at the back of the screen. I can still just about make out the screen though - hopefully enough to back up all the information. I went into system prefs, displays, and when I changed the resolution of the display, it flickered on for an agonising 10 seconds and went dark again.

I'm still under Applecare, butI'm hoping someone knows about it before I hand over my beloved 'Book.

Thanks,
Jan

I've had a couple of instances where my monitor didn't light up upon waking from sleep, but usually tapping the increase brightness (F2) key wakes it back up. There's a thread about this in the OS X forum too, but your problem might be unrelated. Applecare can usually turn things pretty quick-- they had my white spots fixed up in 4 days.

sounds like the inverter went out. AppleCare will fix it quickly, I'd imagine.

Will do that so. I guess I might as well get the white spots problem fixed while I'm at it!

Thanks for the advice,
Jan
