Hi there,

I may have a chance to upgrade to a new 1.5ghz 17". For me performance is important but since I actually use this 17" as a laptop all over the place, heat and battery life are more of concerns than the performance.

My rev a actually runs pretty cool, especially after I pulled the 2nd 512 chip out. I sometimes do work on the bed, and after I lift up the powerbook, it is only a little warm.

Also, I was given as a gift a new extra battery*58 watts that is used in the newer powerbooks. I figure since this has more power than the original battery, and since my rev a is not as powerful, I should be able to get a little more juice. I'm already pulling close to 3.5 hours with the original battery.

Please let me know what you think about my concerns with heat and battery life between the two machines.

Thanks!!
