Hi guys,
I'm new to the Mac community, just had my new 15" PB. However, after two weeks, it got stuck a couple of times when I started it. Blue screen with nothing on it, just the mouse cursor not moving. Had to reboot using the power button...

Any idea why? What's the best way to reboot it when that happen, any key combo to reboot it?

Thanks

Did you make any major changes to your PowerBook after receiving it, such as installing 3rd party software or adding RAM?

No change. I've isntalled Office 2004, Macromedia Studio MX and Adobe Suite, but it starts fine. That pb just happened a couple of times. Nothing special. Just rebooted it and it was fine. I just wanted to know if the same happened to u and if there's a soft way to reboot the computer.

Thanks

if it stalls at startup, that's not normal. Run a disk utility like Disk Warrior or TechTool Pro or Apple Disk Utility. Run Repair permissions before and after each new software install. Regular disk maintenance will keep your Mac running smooth.

Run the Hardware Test from your install DVD.

I had the same problem for a 3rd time in 2 days. In the startup, it get stuck on a bluescreen at startup instead of advancing to the desktop... I did the utility repair using the Mac Install CD, and everything was fine. The said the disk was safe but one recovery was succesful or stg like that...

Has it ever happen to anyone?I've been using my Mac for 3 weeks now and just had these recent problems. When I restart it, there's no pb anymore but it's frustrating when it occurs...

May it be related to my network connection? I think that happens after the network detection at startup... that is my lone explanation for the moment, does it make any sense?
