Hey People,

Just throwing some feelers out to see if anyone can suggest anything. I have the above laptop and find that typing texts can be a real slow affair. Im not a fast typer but the response is really lagged. I also find small tasks like opening and closing windows can take longer than they should. I do have quite a bit of sofware installed and have 512meg or memory and a 4200 hard drive. Still, with this slower hard drive I didnt think I would suffer from text lag...
Is there something Im missing? Is there a way of freeing up the system memory?

Cheers

check your system activity monitor and see if you're running something that hogs your CPU and memory. i haev a 15" Pb too and everything runs just fine. none of the sluggishness you mentioned.

In the past, when I have repaired permissions, it speeds things up quite a bit. It's probably a good idea to repair them after a lot of installs or big projects.

Run Cocktail - restart system.
That does the trick everytime.
