Any people sent their 15" al powerbooks to apple in the last few months for white spots + other issues? I'm just trying to get a feel for how long the repair is going to take. Apparently they have to repair the screen and the logic board, and right now it's on hold, while they wait for parts. That computer is pretty essential to keep the paychecks flowing in, so I'm hoping they're not backed up with repairs right now . . .

on top of that, apple's repair status seems to be down (and has been since I sent my computer in) and i don't particularly like those phone hold times . . .

thanks for any insight . . .

We'll when they have the parts it's typically a 2 to 3 day turn around. Whwen I had the white spots on my ti in Jan. I sent it in on a Monday and got it back late Tues. I had a issue with the repair (screen wasn't put back together right) and sent it right back out that evening since I beat the FedEx clsoing time by 10 minutes. Got the computer back again late Wednesday correctly fixed.

They are in Houstom so they can cover most of the US pretty easily. and quickly.

I have the 15" white spot repair down to about 45 minutes (an hour or so average to be fair) from first screw out to last screw in. Find a place with a short repair queue, maybe an Apple Store, and they can probably get it done rather fast.
