K. well. Lets see, I've had my iBook for 1 and a half years and now when my computer heats up the fan kicks in and i hear a loud hum, which of course is normal. Then after 10 mins or so the fan 'seems' to spin faster and starts making a clicking sound or rattling sound. I am sure this is not normal because if i'm watching vids on my laptop i would not be able to hear any sound coming from the laptop because the clicking would be too loud. I called applecare and they told me to take it into a repair center, and being in canada there is no apple store so i had to take it in to compusmart. The tech guy worked on my puter for 3 days and called me saying that after he was running dvds all day the fan would kick in but no clicking sound. My theory is this tech guy has no idea how apple products works cause he tells me that all laptops run with the fan on all the time. arg.... and now the guy tells me that I have to pay 44$ for trouble shooting. What makes it worse is that when i was taking to the guy on applecare i told him to listen to the fan through the phone and he wouldn't.
Do i have to pay for the troble shoot? Thats balony..!!..
Anyways i had to drive 5 haours to drop it off and won't have it for a couple weeks or so.. what do you guys think i should do.
I think i will call them and tell them don't want to pay for the trouble shoot.
Thnkas

The thing about the troubleshooting fee is that Apple does not pay us to just "look" at your machine. They won't even pay us to fix your software. The only thing they pay for is actually replacing hardware (or a PMU reset). Thus, the fact that the tech had to take time to look at the thing means that someone has to pay the bill.
