Well, I've had my Powerbook for about a week now (12" rev C 10.3.4), and I'm very impressed.
There is one nagging thing that I can't seem to resolve (minus the fact that font smoothing settings arn't unified across the system). There seems to be a slowdown with the graphics card after the system has been resumed from sleep. Here goes:
This is how i noticed it. On of my favorite addons is DesktopManager (if you don't have it, you should get it!) I never cease to be amazed by the cube transition, although this bug is just as evident with other transitions. It also applies to fast user switching and many of the other quarts extreme (I assume they are QE) effects. Even genie window minimizes seem to get lagged sometimes.
All of these awsome effects work pefectly after a fresh restart. 30fps+, couldn't ask for more. But as soon as you suspend (sleep) the system, it gets messed up. The 3d transitions get choppy. It appears from the activity monitor that they are still offloaded, but the graphics card isn't handleing thing correctly anymore. The only way I've found to remedy this is to restart (BOOOO). I'm not much of a os x hacker yet, but I tried to unload and reload the graphics card kernel extentions... which seems to always crash WindowServer (figures).
I've tried this on another rev C powerbook, and it does the same thing. 15" powerbooks don't seem to be struck with the same problem so i assume its something with the graphics card or agp drivers.
I would like to try a different version of the GeForce kernel extention, but i don't have have it (i will have to reinstall to get them). Actually it's 3 kernel extention bundles. GeForce, NVDANV30Hal, and NVDAResman. They are version 1.3.18. If people would confirm this bug/debunk it, that would be great. Also, if you have a version of the drivers that seem to work. Please send them to me!
PS: I tried this in Tiger. It's still busted, but i don't remember the version of the Nvidia drivers (they might still be the same).
Thanks!

I have heard more than once, that the 10.3.4 Nvidia drivers are complete crap. What you should do is revert back to 10.3.3 and see if that aleves the problem ( I don't know if it will for sure, but if its a graphics issue, that's the safest bet).
Good Luck!!!

To try going back to 10.3.3 you should look at this thread

I have a 12" revision B running 10.3.4 and do not get this problem. Only problem I get from waking is that sometimes my color profile resets to default LCD instead of the calibrated one, but it has always done that occasionally since Jaguar.

thanks, i'll try that when i get a chance. I actually tried using the kernel extentions from 10.3.3, but i couldn't get them to work under 10.3.4. They kept turning off quartz extreme entirely.
i did try a game, and yes, this is definitely the problem. It seems like something in the graphics card/bus is getting turned off in sleep and doesn't get turned back on. how hard could that possibly be to fix.. :/ oh well, any news on how soon 10.3.5 will be here???
