Please look at the other post. Weird database problems this morning.
Basic question: does iBook G4 800 ram work in a iBook G4 1 Ghz machine? I think the apple guy I talked to was a little confused.

Please post the speed of the iBook 800 RAM. You can find this information under About This Mac / More Info... / Hardware / Memory.

No. The RAM is not interchangeable. The 800 uses PC100 memory, running on a 100Mhz system bus.
The 1Ghz machine uses PC2100 RAM, with a 133Mhz bus.

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

DIMM1/J31:
Size: 512 MB
Type: DDR SDRAM
Speed: PC2100U-25330
As far as I can tell this is the same ram as the new G4 iBooks (1 ghz +). Someone at the apple store also said this would work. Please note that these are both G4 ibooks. I know G3 ram wouldn't work.

They are exactly the same and interchangeable.
Check Crucial.com for comparison if you are still skeptical.
