Just got my PB 15" 1.5 and absolutely love it. As a Windows OS DBA, I spend 90% of my day on an XP machine, but my home system has been turned off with the arrival of this little beauty.

Anyway - I bought the PB w/ the single stick of 512 mg. Discovering that's okay, but know I need to upgrade. Thus my question...

Hoping to bypass the "never be too rich or have too much ram" answer, and get a realistic response. I intend to run a few games, but mostly use the unit for iPhoto and iMovie activities. Nothing professional, just the regular dad w/ 2 girls family stuff.

Pricing differences between another 512 and a 1 gb stick drive me to ask the experts if, in that scenario, 1 Gb is sufficient - or will I really gain a lot if I bite the bullet and go to 1.5 gb.

My windows experience shows that anything about 1 gb really isn't user noticable. Didn't know if the Mac scaled differently.

Thanks for your help

I think 1gb would be sufficient, but if you get a good deal on extra ram, it would never hurt to have more. For video editing, you will definately notice the difference of more ram.
