I've been using my PB everyday for at least 9 hours a day for more than a year now, and the last week or so every now and then it sounds like there is a fan under the left speaker that rattles against the case, or just is losing a bearing in a very bad way.

Can anyone tell me which fan this might be? has anyone else had this problem? How hard is it to pull these things apart and fix it myself?

thanks in advance

I don't think you can replace them yourself or at least this is my experience with my 15". The left fan is attached to the system board on the 15". It would be easy for you to open the case and try and find the problem, but finding a replacement fan and installing it would be difficult I believe, but I could be wrong.
