I have a 1.25 Rev a 15" PB. is there any issues with burning 4x or 8x DVDs on my PB. I vaguely recall that there might have been an issue with this.

Thanks in advance

You can definitely use 4x or 8x blank DVD's for burning on your Powerbook. The only thing is you will not get the maximum burning speed that your Superdrive is capable of. Your model can burn DVD's up to 2x so you should only use 2x blank DVD media. If you use 4x or 8x blank DVD media it will only burn at 1x.

No, that rule only applied to a few Pioneer models of desktop DVD-R drives.

Thanks for the input. I went to the applestore for some blank DVD's for my vacation but they only had 4x. I vaguely recalled an email/message/kb article stating that I might damage my super drive by putting a faster dvd-r in that what its rated.

Mind you that really doesn't make sense, and I realize the speed of the drive is determined by the drive and not the media.
I'll hit my local compusa and pick up some 2x DVD-R. Its comforting to know that I won't damage my baby though if I do use the 4x media.

Mike
