I've had my iBook G4 933 since March, and it's been great. I tried putting in a CD today for the first time since last week, and it's not going int. I can get the CD about half way in but after that it just won't go in. I feel like if I force it in, I am gonna break the CD. I've checked System Profiler and everything looks good.

I’ve tried other CD and DVD, and the same thing happens.

Does anyone know how fix this?

I don't have AppleCare, but it's looking better and better by the second.

Only thing I could think of is if there's a cd already inside that you haven't ejected and don't know about. Try restarting the book and holding down the mouse button, hopefully something ejects. If not then maybe you should go check out your local Apple tech, because it doesn't sound like your typical problem.

I don't think there is a CD stuck in the drive, becaues I can get the CD in half way. I am the only one who uses this comptuer, so I would know if someone had put in a mini CD in the drive.

Looks like I might be gonig down to the Apple Store real soon.

No suggestions except to get AppleCare! I have a relative who is an Apple tech and he said he wouldn't buy a laptop without some extended service plan and/or insurance. Goodluck!

It doesn't sound like there is something already in there as there is a door-shield that raises when a disc is in so you shouldn't be able to put anything else in.

Have you notice any different sounds? The superdrive on my Powerbook makes a small mechanical "loading" sound when starting. Did you notice this on yours previously and does it sound any different?

It sounds like the drive may have failed simply because there will be a point where the drive is supposed to pull the disc in, but if it wasn't working you would probably hit whatever mechanical device pulled the disc in, but it wouldn't move since there was a malfunction or no power.
